If you still want Dalt Vila, restaurants and a Formentera ferry within easy reach, stay in the interior. If the hotel and one nearby cove are enough, go north. The interior: best for an agroturismo and a first quiet stay
The rural centre gives you the quietest flexible base. Santa Gertrudis, Santa Eulària and the roads around Sant Llorenç put beaches on both coasts within reach without placing you beside the late-night strip. This is where an agroturismo makes sense: a working or historic country estate converted into a small hotel, usually with gardens, a pool and most reasons to stay on site.
Atzaró Agroturismo is the established full-service version, set among orange groves with a substantial spa, long pool and several places to eat. It is more polished retreat than rustic farm stay. Book it when you want one or two days with no plan beyond breakfast, treatment and dinner.
The north: best for coves and staying put
Around Portinatx and Sant Joan, the landscape is greener, the roads slower and the distance from Ibiza Town finally changes the rhythm. The north suits four or five nights built around Cala Xarraca, short walks and long hotel days. It is a poor base if you plan to cross to the south every evening.
Six Senses Ibiza is the complete option at Cala Xarraca. Its scale brings several restaurants, a large spa and scheduled wellness, but not the intimacy of an owner-run finca. Choose it when facilities remove the need to move, and ask where the room sits before paying for a sea view.
The south-west: best for a quiet couples trip
Cala Carbó and the coast facing Es Vedrà are quieter than the famous sunset strip around Sant Antoni, but they are still seasonal and car-dependent. Petunia Ibiza earns its place through the view: gardens and terraces look directly towards the rock, and the hotel works best when you stop trying to collect beaches.
This is the most romantic choice of the three, but also the least practical for exploring the north. Reserve a direct-view room, keep one dinner at the hotel and plan only one cross-island day.

No corner of Ibiza is empty in peak summer.
