Kalesma Mykonos
Ornos, Greece

The verdict
A whole whitewashed village of 25 suites and two villas spilling down a bougainvillea-covered hill above Ornos Bay, designed by Athens studio K-Studio to feel like a traditional Mykonian hamlet. Every suite has its own private pool and sea view; the restaurant, Pere Ubu, cooks real Cycladic food rather than the usual fusion. Design-led, calm and grown-up — the antidote to Mykonos's louder side.
Couples who want Mykonos's design and glamour but from a calm hilltop, with their own pool.
You came to walk out of your room onto a beach or into the party — this is a serene hillside, a short drive from both.
Book a suite for the private pool and sunset sea view, eat at Pere Ubu, and keep Kuveda — the kafenio-style all-day space — for slow lunches.
The rooms
25 suites and two villas arranged like a Cycladic village down the hillside, all in gleaming white with earthy, pared-back interiors by K-Studio. Every suite has its own private pool and a sea view; the villas add more space and seclusion. Adults-leaning, design-led and quiet.
The setting
On a bougainvillea-covered hill above Ornos Bay, on the calmer southwest of Mykonos — sea views and sunsets from the whole property, with Ornos beach and Mykonos Town both a short drive away rather than on the doorstep.
The food
Pere Ubu, the hotel's restaurant, reimagines genuine Cycladic cooking under chef Costas Tsingas in an open-air, white-stone setting. Kuveda is the more relaxed all-day space, inspired by the traditional Greek kafenio — shared meze and long lunches.
Getting there
About 10 minutes from Mykonos airport and the new port, and a short drive from Ornos beach and Chora. A car or the hotel's transfers are useful, as the property sits up on the hill.
Good to know
This is a hilltop retreat, not a beach hotel — you drive down to the sand. Adults-leaning and design-focused; book well ahead for peak summer, and note the property closes over winter.
