Alabriga Hotel & Home Suites
S'Agaró, Spain

The verdict
A yacht-inspired modern 5*GL above S'Agaró with all-suite accommodation, a rooftop infinity pool and a sizeable contemporary art collection. It's the most design-forward stay on this stretch — slick, glossy and tech-heavy. The look is Miami-meets-Costa-Brava rather than rustic.
Design lovers wanting big, modern sea-view suites and a rooftop pool.
You want heritage character or quiet rustic charm — this is sleek and new.
Sea-view suites on the higher floors get the full horizon; confirm the orientation before booking.
The rooms
An all-suite hotel — around 29 large, yacht-inspired suites with high-spec tech, walk-in showers and private terraces, many facing the sea. This is one of the few 5*GL (Gran Lujo) properties on the Costa Brava, and the rooms are the most contemporary and gadget-heavy on this coast.
The setting
A modern build on the heights above S'Agaró and Sant Pol bay, with a rooftop infinity pool, a notable contemporary art collection through the public spaces, and a private fleet (cars and a yacht) available to guests. Slick and urban rather than rustic.
The food
Two restaurants — a Mediterranean dining room and a rooftop Japanese-Mediterranean concept — make the most of the sea views, with a strong cocktail and wine programme. Dining skews ambitious and contemporary to match the architecture.
Getting there
Around 40 minutes from Girona–Costa Brava airport and 1h30 from Barcelona; the hotel can arrange transfers from its own fleet. Sant Feliu de Guíxols and S'Agaró's beaches are minutes away. Valet parking on site.
Good to know
Expensive and unapologetically modern — the antithesis of the coast's heritage hotels. Best for design and tech lovers; if you want old-world character, the nearby Hostal de la Gavina is the opposite pole.
