The verdict
Fourteen rooms in a 17th-century palacete on a quiet street of Palma's old town, built around a stone courtyard. It holds two MICHELIN Keys and offers one of the most intimate ways to stay in the city without giving up a spa.
Couples on a Palma city break who want to walk everywhere and come back to a house rather than a hotel lobby.
You want a pool for the afternoon or a sea view: this is a townhouse, and its pleasures are inside.
Ask which rooms have a balcony or terrace — only some do — and keep the spa for the hottest hours, when the old town is at its busiest.
The rooms
Fourteen rooms and suites in five categories, from Deluxe to the Can Cera Suite, with antique-style furniture, high ceilings and modern bathrooms. Some open onto a balcony or terrace; the rest look into the house.
The setting
On Carrer de Sant Francesc, a quiet street in the old town a short walk from the cathedral and the Basilica of Sant Francesc. The courtyard, with its stone arches and plants, is the heart of the house and the reason to book it.
The food
La Vermutería serves tapas and Mallorcan dishes with local wines. Palma's best restaurants, including several with MICHELIN stars, are within walking distance.
Getting there
About 15–20 minutes by taxi from Palma airport. You do not need a car in the city, and parking in the old town is difficult; hire one only for day trips.
Good to know
Adults only, from 14. There is no pool: the spa, with sauna, contrast shower and hot tub for private use, is where you cool down. The old town is lively on summer evenings.
