Canaves Oia Epitome

Oia, Greece

Verified by our editors · June 2026

The verdict

The largest and most resort-like of the Canaves collection, just outside Oia — 53 suites and villas, almost all with a private plunge or pool, plus the biggest rooftop pool on the island. Faultless contemporary design and slick, five-star service, with sunset views over the Aegean. It's polished rather than intimate: come for the facilities and the finish, not for a hidden-away hideaway.

Best for

Travellers who want full-resort facilities, private pools and impeccable service near Oia's sunset.

Skip if

You want something small, quiet or off the beaten track — at 53 units this is a proper resort, not a secret.

Insider tip

Book a suite with a private pool on the outer edge, use the vast rooftop pool at golden hour, and reserve a table at Elements before the Oia sunset walk.

The rooms

53 suites and one- to two-bedroom villas, built in 2018 in crisp, contemporary Cycladic style — almost every one with its own heated plunge pool or pool on a private terrace, and sunset views over the Aegean. Bigger and more uniform than the tiny caldera boutiques, but beautifully finished.

The setting

On the edge of Oia, Santorini's most famous village, on the Aegean-sunset side rather than hard over the caldera. You get Oia's galleries, restaurants and the world-famous sunset a short walk away, with more space and calm than the village core.

The food

Two main restaurants — Elements and Omnia — cover contemporary Mediterranean and Greek cooking, alongside a breakfast venue and a sunset lounge-bar. The scale means proper choice, unusual for a Santorini property.

Getting there

About 20 minutes from Fira and 30–40 from the airport and Athinios port, at the northern tip of the island. A transfer is easiest; Oia itself is walkable once you're there.

Good to know

The most resort-scaled stay on our Santorini list — great for facilities and service, less so if you're after intimacy. Oia gets very busy around sunset; the hotel's own rooftop and pools are the calmer play. Seasonal.
