Vora Villas

Imerovigli, Greece

Verified by our editors · June 2026

The verdict

Three cave villas — Alpha, Ro and Omikron — carved into the Imerovigli cliff by Athens studio K-Studio, with full-frontal caldera and Skaros Rock views and private plunge pools that hang over the volcano. It crosses the island's cave-house vernacular with a cool Scandinavian restraint, and it is genuinely singular: this is a three-villa hideaway, not a hotel, and all the better for it.

Best for

Design lovers and couples who want a private, architectural cave villa with the caldera at their feet.

Skip if

You want hotel facilities — restaurants, spa, a front desk down the hall. This is three self-contained villas.

Insider tip

The villas run three rooms deep into the rock; take the plunge-pool terrace at sunset when the caldera turns pink and Skaros is silhouetted.

The rooms

Just three villas — Alpha, Ro and Omikron — chiselled into the volcanic rock, each keeping the original cave layout of rooms running deeper into the cliff. Minimalist, sculptural interiors in the K-Studio vein, private plunge pools and terraces straight over the caldera.

The setting

On the Imerovigli cliff face with full-frontal views of the caldera and Skaros Rock — arguably the most dramatic aspect on Santorini, above the crowds of Fira and Oia. The village's caldera path and tavernas are a short walk up.

The food

There's no restaurant of its own — this is a villa stay — but breakfast is provided and the team will arrange private in-villa dining and chefs. Imerovigli's tavernas and the Fira restaurants are close by.

Getting there

About 15 minutes from Fira and 25 from the airport and Athinios port. Access is on foot down the caldera steps from Imerovigli, as with the neighbouring cave hotels — pack light and wear flat shoes.

Good to know

Tiny, steps-heavy and villa-run rather than a full-service hotel — you trade a concierge desk and spa for total privacy and one of the island's best views. Best for couples; book far ahead, as three villas go quickly. Seasonal.
