The verdict
An adults-only estate beside the Es Salobrar salt flats near Campos, built around the only natural thermal spring in the Balearic Islands, with water at about 38 °C, thermal pools, an infinity pool facing the wetlands and suites and villas among the gardens. It holds a MICHELIN Key and is Mallorca's most singular spa hotel.
Couples who want a spa trip, Es Trenc a few minutes away and nothing but water and silence in between.
You want a town on foot or nightlife: it is a countryside retreat near the salt flats.
Use the thermal pools early in the morning or late in the evening, and cycle to Es Trenc on the hotel's bikes.
The rooms
Thirty-six rooms and suites in pale wood and white, most with a terrace facing the wetland park; some villas add their own pool.
The setting
Near Campos in the south of the island, beside the protected Es Salobrar de Campos salt flats and about six kilometres from the dunes of Es Trenc. An old stone manor house stands at the heart of the estate.
The food
The restaurant serves Mediterranean food, with lunch and dinner on the terrace; Colònia de Sant Jordi and Campos have more for a night out.
Getting there
About 35 minutes by car from Palma airport. A car or bikes for the beach.
