The verdict
Twenty-two rooms in a white house above Marina Grande, where the boats from Naples land, which has been a hotel since before 1885 — the Continental, then the Metropole and the Palatium — and is now J.K. Place. Michele Bonan did the interiors in a marine palette the hotel compares to a 1930s racing yacht, the pool and the terrace restaurant face the Gulf of Naples, and it is one of the few hotels on Capri right on the sea. Three MICHELIN Keys.

You want to spend your evenings up in Capri town or Anacapri: the hotel is by the harbour, and the town is a funicular or taxi ride up.
Ask for one of the penthouse rooms: the suite at the top has a long private terrace over the Gulf of Naples.
The rooms
Twenty-two rooms in nine types, from Classic rooms of 30 m² facing Monte Solaro to sea-view rooms, studios over the pool and the Penthouse Suite. Rooms cannot take cots or extra beds, so this is a hotel for couples.
The setting
On Via Provinciale Marina Grande, above the harbour where the ferries and hydrofoils arrive, with the pool and the terrace facing the Gulf of Naples.
The food
JKitchen cooks the Mediterranean simply — the catch of the day, local cheeses, careful pastry — on the panoramic terrace from breakfast to dinner, and there is a lounge bar.
Getting there
Hydrofoils and ferries from Naples and Sorrento land at Marina Grande, close to the hotel. Helicopters from Naples airport land at Anacapri, twenty minutes away by taxi.
Good to know
