Aragonese Pyrenees: good to know

Where should you stay to ski at Candanchú and Astún?

Canfranc Estación, in the old international station, is 7 km from Candanchú and 10 km from Astún, and it is the most remarkable hotel in the valley, with two MICHELIN Keys.

Can you get to Canfranc by train?

Yes. The Zaragoza–Huesca–Canfranc line reopened in June 2025 after engineering works, with a couple of trains a day. The line on to France is not expected to reopen for years.

When is the ski season in the Aragonese Pyrenees?

Usually from December to March or April, depending on the snow. Check the resorts' own opening dates before booking an early-December trip.
