Ask the team to map your cellar visits — Torroja sits dead centre of the DOQ and half the great names are within fifteen minutes.
The rooms
13 rooms in the village's restored abbey house — white walls, exposed timber ceilings, linen and local art, pared back rather than showy. Book the higher floors for rooftop-and-vineyard views. Breakfast is included, and generous.
The setting
In the lanes of Torroja del Priorat, one of the DOQ's prettiest wine villages, with terraced vineyards rising straight from the edge of town. Step out of the door and you're on the wine route — cellars, stone streets and not much else, which is exactly the appeal.
The food
Breakfast and an honest, local table at the hotel, with a library and corners built for a slow glass of something serious. For dinners beyond, the region's cellar-door restaurants and Gratallops' tables are a short drive.
Getting there
About 45 minutes from Reus airport, two hours from Barcelona, with the final kilometres on winding vineyard roads. A car is essential; parking is at the edge of the village.
Good to know
Adults only (12 and up) and part of Design Hotels / Marriott Bonvoy, so points work here. With 13 rooms it books out fast around harvest — reserve early for September–October.
