How many nights do you need in Priorat?
Two nights allow two winery visits, one long lunch and Escaladei. Three nights are better if you also want Siurana, a Montsant walk or unhurried time at a hotel pool or spa.
Which Priorat village is best for a first visit?
Gratallops has the strongest concentration of wineries and a few places to eat. Torroja is quieter and central, Escaladei suits history and isolation, and Falset offers the widest choice of everyday services.
Can you visit Priorat without a car?
A limited trip is possible via Marçà-Falset station if you stay in Falset and pre-book transfers. A car or private driver is the practical choice for reaching the wine villages and cellars.
What is the difference between Priorat and DOQ Priorat?
Priorat is the wider administrative county. DOQ Priorat is a smaller wine appellation within it; the separate DO Montsant covers many surrounding vineyards in the same county.
