The rooms
26 rooms and suites carved out of the estate's restored stone buildings — warm contemporary interiors over old bones, with beams, lime plaster and views to the vines or the Montsant cliffs. It's a small five-star: polished but intimate rather than grand.
The setting
On the old monastic lands of Escaladei, at the foot of the Serra de Montsant's rock walls — vines, olives and almonds all around, with the village and the charterhouse ruins minutes away. This is where Priorat wine began; the sense of history is real, not staged.
The food
The restaurant cooks seasonal Catalan food matched to the estate's own wines and olive oil, with the terrace as the summer dining room. Tastings and vineyard visits run on site — you can walk from your room to the cellar.
Getting there
Around 50 minutes from Reus airport and a little over two hours from Barcelona, up into the DOQ's northern valley. You'll want a car; the villages of the wine route — Gratallops, Torroja, Porrera — are an easy, beautiful drive.
Good to know
Adults only, and largely seasonal rhythms — spring and harvest are the sweet spots. A Small Luxury Hotels member with its own working winery; summers are hot, so plan pool hours accordingly.
