The verdict
A mansion built by the Alberti family in 1740, during Menorca's British period, on the Carrer d'Isabel II above Maó's harbour, restored into fourteen rooms with high beamed ceilings and a roof terrace looking over the water. It holds a MICHELIN Key and is one of the best-value Key hotels on the island.

The rooms
Fourteen rooms on three floors, from cosy doubles of about 20 m² to suites of up to 45 m², one with its own terrace. High ceilings, original beams, thick walls and a calm Menorcan palette; some rooms connect.
The setting
On the Carrer d'Isabel II in the historic centre of Maó, about 200 metres from the harbour. The house belongs to the city's British-period Enlightenment architecture, with a sober facade and a roof terrace over the town and the port.
The food
Breakfast is served in a bright room that opens onto the patio; there is no restaurant, and Maó's harbourside and old-town restaurants are a short walk away.
Getting there
About 10 minutes by taxi from Menorca airport. You do not need a car in Maó.
Good to know
No pool: the roof terrace and the library are the shared spaces. The house hosts small cultural events. Es Grau and the S'Albufera natural park are about 15 minutes away by car.
