The verdict
The last of the villas that once lined the promenade of La Concha, built in 1866 to a design by the municipal architect Antonio Cortázar and now a small adults-only hotel run by the team of the Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra, a short walk along the bay. Its rooms are white and quiet, several with full-length windows onto the bay, and it holds one MICHELIN Key. The address is the reason to choose it: everything in San Sebastián is a walk away along the water.
Couples who want the bay in the window and the old town, the pintxo bars and La Concha on foot.
You want a spa or a destination restaurant in the building: there are treatment rooms and a bar, and the city's tables are outside.
Ask for one of the Bahía de La Concha rooms — Clásica, Panorámica or Terraza — rather than a Zubieta room onto the city: the view is the hotel.
The rooms
Twenty-three rooms by the hotel's own count (the Guide lists twenty-five), from 23 m² Terraza rooms with a small terrace onto the bay to Junior Suites with a sitting room, decorated in whites and Atlantic blues; some look straight out to the bay, others onto the city.
The setting
On Calle Zubieta, on the promenade of La Concha, between the beach and the centre. The old town, the market and the city's restaurants are all within a short walk.
The food
Breakfast and a bar with views over the bay are in the house. For dinner, San Sebastián is one of the most decorated cities in the world for food, and the old town's pintxo bars are fifteen minutes away on foot.
Getting there
Biarritz airport is about 40 minutes by car and Bilbao about 1 hour 10; San Sebastián's own airport is closer. The hotel stands inside the city's low-emission zone; it has spaces in the La Concha car park.
Good to know
Adults only. Treatments are provided with the La Perla thalassotherapy centre on the same beach. Rooms were on sale for the Christmas week when we checked on 13 October 2026.
