The rooms
A handful of rooms only, each decorated with care: romantic Deluxe rooms with statement designer bathtubs, two Superior rooms with private terraces, and a separate four-bedroom apartment with kitchen and living room that sleeps up to eight. Adults-only, inside a sensitively restored 17th-century farmhouse.
The setting
On the edge of the tiny village of Fonteta (Forallac), deep in the Baix Empordà countryside, with a garden of fruit trees, a working vegetable plot and a magnesium-salt-purified pool. The medieval villages of Peratallada and La Bisbal are minutes away and the coast is about 20 minutes.
The food
This is the heart of the place: owner-chef Iolanda Bustos, known for her pioneering 'cuina de les flors' (wild-flower and foraged cuisine), cooks ecological, hyper-seasonal menus largely from her own garden. The hotel also runs cooking courses, foraging, yoga and craft workshops.
Getting there
Around 30 minutes from Girona–Costa Brava airport and about 10 minutes from La Bisbal d'Empordà. A car is essential out here; there's parking at the masia. Barcelona is roughly 1h45.
Good to know
An adults-only eco hotel with very few rooms — it's personal and books out, so reserve early and confirm any dining experiences in advance. Come for the garden, the flowers and the food rather than hotel-style facilities.
